Review: Dueba Barbie Aloha Violet

So these are my super-dramatic, extremely opaque Dueba Barbie Aloha Violet lenses! I love them so :)

I purchased these, as usual, from www.solution-lens.com. This site is always helpful, and they have a great selection and great prices. Highly recommended. Here is the link to the lens description:

I was a little bit wary of ordering another violet lens after my Geo Nudy Violet ones were such a disappointing color. But the description said these Aloha lenses woul be noticeable, and boy were they right! This is what they look like compared to my nudies:

Now, onto the review!!

color:

Yes, they do show a very noticeable color! Both with flash and without. Plus, the color is the lovely lavender violet I have been searching for all my life. I have a very cool complexion, and these lenses are very cool-toned, so they work great. Very happy with the color!

design:

don't mind me, I was having a weird looking day...

The design of the Alohas is very dramatic. Thick black limbal ring, and a very opaque colored center. If you look closely at colored part, it kind of looks like mesh fabric. It doesn't have the little uncolored spaces that most other lenses have, which allows your natural color to peek through and blend. This is good, because it allows for a more noticeable color, but the lens isn't translucent at all, so it definitely doesn't look natural. I wear this lens out at night for a sexy, dramatic look, but it certainly is not an every day lens.

design: 8/10

comfort:

No problems here- Duebas never really cause me discomfort though. Even for such an opaque lens, these feel very breathable.

enlargment:

These lenses are 14.5mm. With the help of the dark limbal ring, they are definitely enlarging. 14.5 is the largest I am willing to go. Otherwise, the lenses look alien.

Overall:

I love these! The only problem I have with these lenses is that they do not look even remotely natural during the day. But they look gorgeous with some dark makeup for a night on the town, and the color just blows me away. So overall, I am very very pleased with my Dueba Barbie Alohas.

Review: Dueba Barbie Tony Brown

So I have done the review on the lovely Dueba Barbie Tony Grays. Now here is the review of their brown counterpart, which I am falling more and more in love with every day!

So I have been on a search for the perfect contact lenses: ones that look natural both up close and from a distance, with a color payoff that can be seen in natural and dim light as well as flash photography and sunlight.

Well I have to say, these are damn near perfect!

color:

These lenses are kind of a golden honey-brown. They can look hazel-ish in some lighting as well. Off the eye, they are basically light orange. I love that these lenses have a nice warm look. I think this goes a lot better with my style than the gray tonies. The color isn't such a shocking change from brown eyes. This is a color you can wear anywhere.

design:

As you may have read from my review on the Dueba Barbie Tony grays, the design on these lenses is brilliant!!!!! If I could own every color, I would. This design is perfect, because it is pigmented enough to show color on the darkest of eyes, but still sheer enough that your eyes look natural and translucent. It fades into the pupil so that it does not give the "fishy eye" look, and the pixellation is so fine it can barely be seen by the naked eye. My one and only point of ever-so-slight (barely even acknowledgable) discontentment is that I sometimes wish it had more of/a darker limbal ring. But this is really the most beautiful, vibrant, natural design I have ever tried.

comfort:

Duebas are always comfortable for me. This series in particular seems to melt onto my eyeballs the second I put them in. I find myself having to check to make sure they are still in because I cannot feel them. Awesome :)

Help! Does anyone know where I can find these lenses?

Does anybody know what these lenses are called, and where I can buy them? I found the image here:

I don't find much for sale when I search for A21, so I am wondering if they have a different name. Pinky Paradise is the only place that has them for sale, but they only have the brown and the gray. I want the blue ones.

They almost look like my Barbie Tonies, which I love, but those do not come in blue :(

If anyone knows where I can find these, I would be much obliged.

Review: Dueba Barbie Tony Gray

I am going to be doing a review on the Dueba Barbie Tony lenses in the silver gray color.

Before I say anything else, these are my absolute favorite lenses I have ever owned...

There are two silvers in this series- “light silver” and “silver gray.” The “silver gray” is the darker of the two. In the lens case, it is nearly white!!

My natural eye color is a very dark brown, and I have been looking for a lens to make them look natural light blue. I prefer lenses that look natural, as opposed to the dramatic dolly eye look.

After I placed my order with Solution-Lens, it only took about 10 days (real days, not business days) for my package to arrive.

As for the package, it was wrapped ever so carfully (and cutely) with lots of bubble wrap, cute little baskets to keep the vials safe, and stickers! Oh, such cute stickers (it’s the little things, yaknow?).

Oh, and they gave me a case (free) for each of the lenses I ordered.

Now, onto the lenses themselves:

As mentioned, these are the Dueba Barbie Tony lenses in the “silver gray” color.

These are the most amazingly perfect and beautiful and stunning lenses I have ever owned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, they actually show up on my dark brown eyes:

The color is a light steel blue. Under some light sources, it looks more gray/silver.

Second, they show up in any and all conditions: Flash photography, natural light, dim light, from a distance, and up close.

Now there are many contacts out there which can be seen on dark eyes, from a distance, and in dim lighting. What makes these so amazing is that the lenses manage to look completely natural regardless of how closely you look at them. The pixellation can only be seen in very high-definition photos taken with flash, and even then, you have to zoom in quite a lot.

Because the pigment fades into the pupil with a delicate feathering effect, the natural iris color simply looks like a natural starburst.

These lenses are also my first pair of lenses that required no time to adjust to them. I was able to pop them in and immediately continue about my day.
